Jenny - a new artist in the making - my favorite quilt

Wednesday, September 20th, 2006

Jenny is always making beautiful things. As I was making my starquilt for the baptism, Jenny was copying my pattern on paper. What you see here is her little tablecloth (it is on a small table in our living room). She first drew the stars on special paper, ironed them on the fabric and cut […]

The sampler - the whole idea behind the blog

Sunday, September 17th, 2006

I wanted to start this blog because of the samler a friend of mine and I are making. We are making this sampler to learn new techniques and to be able to actually get some quilting done. It’s also a great excuse to visit each other, talk, drink tea and eat cookies. As we […]

Stars for the future..

Sunday, September 17th, 2006

My best friend’s little boy was being baptised, and I couldn’t go!! Of course I had to make a quilt for him - and I’ve wanted to make something with stars for a really long time. This was a fairly ease quilt to make. I struggled a bit with the colors. I usually order fat […]

What to do while watching tv?

Sunday, September 17th, 2006

I like to knit and crochet as well as sewing. This is a collection of finished projects that I have no idea what to with. The stars might be a surprise for christmas… It’s all back in the SKO (shoes)bag - and I guess it’ll stay here…

Place mats

Sunday, September 17th, 2006

I love these fabrics with fruits and vegetables. The problem is finding the right thing to make. For last christmas I made “kitchen gloves” and a weekend at my dad’s I made these for his girlfriend. She is a great cook, and it fits with her wonderful food.

A jungle quilt for Emily

Sunday, September 17th, 2006

I saw a really nice jungle quilt in a magazine. I tried to follow the instructions, but I’ve never been great at that. So I found my own way. I really do need to finish this, but for now the inspiration is lacking. All my focus is on the new projects. But it’s not too […]

Inspiration - sewing equipment

Sunday, September 17th, 2006

I saw something similiar to this in a magazine and was inspired to make it with my own twist. I tried different things for the front, and I am very pleased with the result. I love it and the color - but I don’t use it that much. Sometimes I fill it up when […]

My first class

Sunday, September 17th, 2006

A friend of mine and I decided to join a beginners class at Katherines quiltestue. That was a lot of fun, and we learn many basic skills - and definitly got a couple of eye openers. I would like to take more classes, but with a full-time job and small children there never seem to […]

Beach bag

Monday, September 4th, 2006

This is a favourite of my bags. I use when the girls and I go swimming. A handy size for all our things, and only the things in the bag gets wet. It was a bit difficult to sew until I found I could stick some trace paper over and under the material.

Back pack

Monday, September 4th, 2006

This was my second attempt at quilting - a back pack made without a pattern! The only requiredment was the size - I had another pack pack just that size and it was perfect. I still can’t believe it turned out so good. Of all the things I’ve made this is what I’m most proud […]
